Set and Setting – an update – Dr. Ing. Dipl.-Psych. Jan Weinhold
Starting from cultural-anthropological work on rituals, the psychedelic movement since the 1960s and Zinberg’s book of the same name, the concepts of “drug, set and setting” were established in harm-reduction / safer-use approaches and substance-related practices. Building on this, the lecture presents a model for recording conditions of the controlled use of (illegal) psychoactive substances. A distinction is made between consumption patterns, forms and contexts. Concrete forms of low-risk and salutogenetic forms and contexts of use of v.a. Entactogenic and hallucinogenic are discussed.
