Party Culture and Psychonautics A World Heritage Site – Hans Cousto

The rites of party culture and psychonautics are an intangible cultural heritage. The viability of these rites can only be guaranteed if there are protected spaces for the celebration of these rites. This guarantee is not given today, because in the vast majority of countries of the world the handling of psychotropic substances is prosecuted and places where these rites are celebrated are often visited by the police. The reason for this is the fact that science, especially medicine, currently classifies mind-expanding experiences as purely subjective experiences. Awareness-widening experiences are not yet accessible to a generally recognized scientific investigation and beyond their experience, they have no objectively debatable meaning for school physicians.
Psychonautics, as part of the culture of consciousness, by far not only concerns the party culture or the hedonistic use of psychotropic substances, but above all the use of these substances in the context of religious rites and in the context of health care for the preservation and restoration of physical and mental health. The science is hereby a wide field open. And for politicians, there are many variants available to propose psychonautical rites for the intangible World Cultural Heritage.
The lecture includes a drug policy manifesto aimed at subordinating the rites of psychonautics as an intangible cultural heritage to the protection of UNESCO, with the political responsibility for dealing with psychotropic substances being transferred from WHO to UNESCO by the UN as a freelance scientist in the fields of harmony, music and vibration theory. In addition, Cousto is non-fiction author. Among his best-known publications are: “The Cosmic Octave – the Way to Universal Harmony” (1984), “The Octave – the Basic Law of Harmony” (1987) and “Sounds, Images, Worlds – Music in Harmony with Nature” (1989 ), “MDMA-tuning-booklet” (2001). Together with Matthias Pauschel he developed the harmonic mindmachine Orpheus and published with him the “Orpheus Handbook – the effect of the rhythms of the earth on body, soul and spirit” (1992). Experiences from the techno world and the findings from the work of Eve & Rave, an association for the promotion of party culture and the reduction of the drug problem, Cousto published in the books “From the primordial cult to culture – drugs and techno” (1995), “Drug- Checking – Qualitative and Quantitative Control of Ecstasy and Other Substances “(1997),” Drug Mix Consumption – The Most Important in a Nutshell on Most Common Partydrugs “(2003) and” Psychonautics, Hedonism and Ecstasy “(2009).
