Can drugs help? – Claudia Möckel Graber

Drugs are consumed by us humans and that for millennia. But drugs are not the same drugs. Here we call attention to substances known as hallucinogens, entactogens and empathogens in the party scene as well. The intake of these psychotropic substances such as LSD, MDMA, psilocybin etc. is not unproblematic. There can be physical and mental crisis states and feelings that we do not understand and with which we suddenly can not handle anymore. For the consumer to have a truly healing experience, a protective setting is necessary. In a safe frame, the experience of the drug becomes a trip to itself. By getting to know one’s inner worlds, by confronting and accepting old and new emotions, meaningful intentions and values open up. Values that have been largely lost in this meritocracy. The question then arises as to whether and in what form drugs can help us in our search for experience, wholeness and development.

Claudia Möckel Graber studied Humanities in Frankfurt. Later, she trained as a healing practitioner psychotherapist. Among other methods, she learned the deep psychology-oriented practice, known as the “psycholytic” therapy. She has been working on this substance-supported work for more than 20 years.
