Absinthe The Return of the Green Fairy  Roger Liggenstorfer

In his workshop, Roger Liggenstorfer presents the background story of absinthe: from its discovery in the 18th century in Val-de-Travers, Switzerland, to the bohemian boom in Paris between 1850 and 1900 until its prohibition at the beginning of the 20th century. For some years, the ‘fuel of artists’ is legally available again and is usually still distilled by former black burners. At the same time, the various rituals that have developed over the years are presented. Roger Liggenstorfer himself comes from a family of black people: his grandfather Charles Henri Comte was a traveling absinthe dealer from the Swiss Jura.
